A lot of people have monuments, so why can't Sam Houston. Sam Houston was the president of Texas. I think he deserves a monument because he did not secede with the rest of the South. As a strong army captain he helped rally his troops after the Alamo was defeated, so when him and his troops ran into the fight they yelled remember the Alamo. This to me shows me that he was brave and courageous.
All iPhones are getting hacked. The government is trying to take over electronics. The United State is under attack. Forget about the fourth amendment we don't need it the FBI will force Apple to open it for them.
“It would have allowed any foreign government to force American companies to help in their investigations. The U.S. government would not have been able to stop this from happening, a situation that certainly would not be in America's best interests.” Stated by Randall Holcombe in PRO: Apple's refusal to cooperate with the FBI was the right thing to do.
If Apple helped the FBI break into a terrorist’s iPhone, the United States would not be able to stop Apple from helping Chinese government. All foreign governments would wanna hack into iPhones and not all of them may be terrorist iPhones. They may start to use Apple against their country’s constitution.
In the article CON: Apple's refusal to cooperate with the FBI is hard to justify By Flora Whitt says that president Franklin Delano Roosevelt created a committee for Economic Developments. Most of the companies in this committee were probably happy to help, and volunteered because we were at war, but we are not in a war right now so it should not matter if Apple doesn’t help the FBI hack terrorists iPhone. It would be a different story if we were at war with someone, but we aren’t. Other than the the Kasaï-Central clashes that happened in 2016 which the United States had nothing to do with there haven't been any real wars.
“Apple phones have features that protect the privacy of the information on them, and the Fourth Amendment guarantees people this right to privacy.” Says PRO: Apple's refusal to cooperate with the FBI was the right thing to do by Randall Holcombe.
Being famous is not as amazing as it looks. Celebrities have worry about the paparazzi following them around. Psychopathe fans breaking and entering into their homes. Celebrities have to worry the most about rumors. Being a celebrity is like being in junior high once someone hears a juicy rumor it starts to spread like wildfire. As a celebrity with a rumor going around once the press gets it they will twist it into a horrible story about that person(s) because the press just wants people to read their newspaper so they get money every time someone buys it. Being famous isn’t always great.
“Stars have to wonder if their ‘friends’ like them for who they are or for what they have.” As stated on Scope magazine. Celebrities have to be careful on who they trust to be their freind. In my opinion if I were famous I wouldn’t like my friends to be hanging out with me just for my money or the press. After a while of being famous I would probably start having trust issues.
Fame for some star will not make them break down. Take Will Smith at the age of sixteen he launched a successful rap career with Jeff Townes as jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. Now at the age of forty-eight he has three children and is a residence of Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. Just because he is living well doesn't mean he didn't get help.
Being famous can be really stressful, to us outsiders, the constant attention seems glamorous, but in reality it very stressful. Who in their right mind would want people with cameras stalking you, no one would. During an interview Jennifer Lawrence said that when she simply steps out of her door she gets anxiety. If a celebrity wanted to go get a bottle of tylenol for their child they would have to wear fancy clothes and makeup just to go to the store. Heck as a regular human being we could to the store in pink unicorn pajama's and no one would hardly bat an eye, but if Shakira did she would be racist or some odd thing and it would be all over the news.
Being famous is very stressful. As a celebrity you have to worry about everything like does this shirt match this skirt or is this tie too wild. It also makes you unable to trust new friends because you don't know if they are lying just to get your wealth or if they are wanting to be your friend for who you are when you're not on stage. To be great doesn't mean you have to be famous.
My family has two Christmas’s a year. My first Christmas is with my dad's side of the family. We have it on Christmas Eve it starts after church. All my family member will go to my Aunt Veronica’s house to eat, then open presents. Every year one of my cousins boyfriends shows up. He talks for a bit then all the kids went to the basement to play uno. While down there my cousin Summer and I started to wrestle. Even though she is smaller than me she scares me, but I still mess with her. After that we went up stairs, I joined my older cousin’s in playing watch ya mouth. After a while all the kids went down and played air hockey. Then my family left because my little brother tracks Santa Claus and he didn't wanna miss him.
My second Christmas is with my mom's side of the family. We celebrate on Christmas day after everyone has opened their gifts at home. This year my favorite cousin Hunter and I both got a DX-3 super vision drone. While at my grandma’s which I call nana house I flew mine and he watched. We were late because I was flying it at my Grandma’s house and lost control and sight of it so we had to look for my drone, but we found it in a huge tree. A family tradition at both family Christmas’s is to play cards especially rook which is a card at my mom's family Christmas.
My Christmas ended with my whole family sick. My aunt and uncle who hosted Christmas was sick the Wednesday before they held Christmas, but they said it was my uncle’s illness not the flu. My family came home and I got sick Christmas night. As soon as I got sick my mom started freaking out. My cousin Hunter Slone has cancer and is getting chemo, so his immune system is very weak. Getting sick could result in a trip to the hospital or even worse death. Hunter and I spent the whole night together then I come sick. My aunt was mad when she found out but she isn’t anymore.
Although I am only 13 years old, I know what I want to be when I get older. I enjoy cooking exotic food, but I still like to use normal everyday foods. I love to make a dish look colorful by using different fruits and vegetables. Currently I'm not obtaining the grades I'm capable of. I want to be a chef when I grow up.
I can become a chef by getting better listening skills and learning how to cook certain foods at EHOVE. According to Ohio Means Jobs website if I went to EHOVE or stay in highschool I will be able to move on. To be a chef I would need to graduate with a high school diploma. I would also need five years of experience. If I keep getting the grades I get, I will never reach my goal of being a chef. I would have to get at least A’s and B’s in all my classes. I could get into better study habits, but I would also have to turn in homework on time and finished. To have a culinary job.
As a chef I have to have many skills and activities. In order to be a chef I will need to be good at food science, nutrition, and diet. A Culinary Chef is someone who is in the profession of preparing, cooking and presenting food this means I will have to know the tastes of the foods. I the chef have to be skilled in math too, so I don't mess up measurements.
As a chef I will work with a lot of different foods and tools. Like kitchen utensils and appliances, so a chef needs to know what each tool is and what it does. A chef may change the taste of a food by using different utensils. “recent years, psychologists have found that the color and shape of plates and other dishes can have an impact on the eating experience. Studies have found, for example, that people tend to eat less when their dishes are in sharp color-contrast to their food” as stated on http://www.npr.org
When I grow up I want to be a chef. I will get into a good college. As a chef I will work twelve to fourteen hours a day seven days a week. I will get the holidays off to spend with family, so my family will not get mad at me. When I grow up I will be a chef.
Before career day I wanted to be a culinarian also known as a chef. The reason behind my interest is my cousin. My cousin went to college to be a culinarian, so every year that he came home for a holiday he would make something new. The one year he made us a pastry right in front of us and it was amazing. I fell in love with cooking and have started my own recipes. From there I wanted to go to the west side market, so on my eleventh birthday my parents took me to the West Side market. I loved it I seen so many different fruits and vegetables like a dragon fruit.
Before this career day my thoughts were that it would be easy as an adult, but after the reality store I learned that being a child is way easier. As a child you don't have to worry about taxes, feeding mouths, putting clothes on someone's back, giving someone a roof over their head, and etc.. Kids think that school is hard, so they want more breaks. Although the year has three hundred sixty-five in a year kids only have to go to school for one hundred eighty days. That leaves one hundred eighty- five days for vacation or breaks. If we put these numbers into months kids would be off of school from the first of January to the fourth of July. That's seven months of no school. As an adult the average adult works two hundred fifty-one days a year. That leaves them with one hundred fourteen days of vacation. Ten of these days are holidays while one hundred four days are weekends. Adults have the first of January to the twenty-fourth of April. A big amount of 4 months. At the reality store we had to deal with the hardships of life like paying bills, buying insurance and exct. We got a paycheck that told us how much we had and if we had kids. My school even brought in cops to give us speeding tickets and stuff.
At the end of the day I went to three different classes were people came in and talked to us about our careers we chose. I learned that robots don’t take away our jobs they just create more. We talked about how they created more jobs, robots create more jobs by breaking. We need someone to fix the broken robots. What I learned from the whole career day is that life is hard, and if you don't do something you love then life will be hard and miserable.
In November, voters in the San Francisco Bay Area will be deciding whether to say yes or no to a tax on sugary drinks. Drinks that, according to experts, are a leading cause to diabetes, obesity and tooth decay. Those in support of the tax say that a penny-per-ounce is needed on drinks. Those voters opposed however say that it is a grocery tax and will make other grocery costs higher. Only a few cities in the nation has passed this vote.
Berkeley and Philadelphia both passed this tax. Now, the American Beverage Association is suing to stop it from taking effect. The end result is a costly campaign battle between Associations in support of the tax and Associations against it. The American Beverage Association has reserved almost ten million dollars just for television ad time while the former Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, has contributed almost three point seven million in support of the issue. Lawrence Gostin, a Global Health Law Professor at Georgetown has stated that if this is passed in the Bay Area, it could lead to the entire nation taking it up. He, himself is in support the this tax.
This is the second time San Francisco has attempted to get a soda tax passed. In 2014 they went for a dedicated tax, which requires a two-thirds vote. Now, they are attempting it with a general tax which only requires a majority vote. Those opposed of the tax has pointed out that with this change, the money received from the tax could be used for anything. As opposed to being used for health programs as those for are saying. Opposers of the tax are also stating that a grocery tax like this would make owners raise the cost of other foods to help spread the cost. Thus, resulting in small business owners losing business possibly and even maybe closing.
Those for the tax have stepped up their game however. They are going to Latino and African-American neighborhoods that voted against it in the past. By visiting these areas, they are hoping to point out the unhealthy benefits from drinking these sugary drinks in the hopes that they will vote to pass it. By passing this tax, they are saying that they will not be able to afford it as easily as they do now. Thus resulting in a healthier community for these predominantly poorer and unhealthier smaller\ communities. Latinos and African-Americans have been diagnosed with diabetes more so than white communities.

Matt Ott, my hero, is a voluntary firemen. My dad was born on June 27, 1977 he is 39 years old. He has a wife and two kids, but one is a step son. He works at Sunrise spreading chemicals on fields. In the Summer my dad is an advisor for our 4-H club. Although I don't see my dad a lot during harvest I would never want him to quit farming.
The characteristics that make my dad my hero is he is committed. He should how committed he was, by finishing projects he started. My dad is also responsible for everything he does. He shows this when he messes up on something. My dad is also caring. He helps my neighbor by plowing her driveway in the winter, so she can get out of her driveway.
My dad is my hero because when I was seven we were at Walmart. We had just came out of the tire section when this girl fell and started to shake. Her little sister started freaking out and yelling, so my dad ran over and started asking her if her sister has had a seizure before. After talking to her he ordered bystanders to get pillows and water for the girl. After getting her out of the seizure my dad made sure she new who she was and where she was. That is the reason my dad, Matt Ott, is my hero.
